The Long Island singer and songwriter Maria Ellis has performed at NYC's Bitter End and The Cutting Room. She's opened for rocker Rick Derringer and has sung at the "Save the Bay" concert in the Hamptons. Ellis was surrounded by pop music throughout her childhood. "My parents would always be blasting U2 and other bands from the '80s in the house.
My dad was obsessed with the Beatles. My childhood revolved around music." Her parents' love of pop music influenced her at a young age and they encouraged her to write down melodies from the time she was six, the year she began piano lessons.
